Bungalow destroyed in early morning blaze

A home was destroyed by fire in the early hours of this morning in Dartford.

Firefighters were called out to Sandpit Road, after a blaze broke out in a bungalow.

Crews from the town along with firefighters from London were sent to the scene at about 6.50am.

They used breathing apparatus to enter the building to check to see in anyone was inside, but discovered the property empty.

Crews spent more than an hour fighting the flames, but unfortunately the bungalow was completely destroyed by the fire, the cause of which is under investigation.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service, said: “Crews used hose jets to fight the flames, but the property was totally destroyed by the fire.”

Fire investigators were still at the scene at about 10.30am to try and establish was caused the blaze.
