A Gravesham councillor has resigned due to "a change in family circumstances".

Cllr Peter Barbuti, ward member for Painters Ash, has tendered his resignation to the council.

He said a change in family circumstances has led to him having to move home to Somerset and he can no longer fulfil his obligations.

A notice of vacancy was posted on the council's website www.gravesham.gov.uk

Cllr Barbuti is one of three members for the ward.

A by-election will be called in the next few weeks.
