Cash stolen in robbery at bookmakers

A masked knifeman stole £100 from Coral's bookmakers in St John’s Road, Whitstable.

He went into the premises on Monday evening and demanded money from staff.

He showed a knife to a man behind the counter and about £100 was handed over before the robber left and headed towards Chestfield station.

The man is described as aged 20 to 30 and wearing a black padded jacket with AIR written on the back.

He had a hooded top with the hood up and a scarf across his face.

Police offficers are studying CCTV and have made house to house inquiries.
