'THE Cliftonville Beacon' - a string of 80 dazzling white lights wrapped around the town of St Paul's Church, Northdown Road - is shining brightly for its sixth Christmas.

Cllr Clive Hart, who organises the lighting display with fellow Cllrs Doug Clark and Linda Aldred each year, said: "It's become something of a tradition at the heart of our ward.

"It can be seen for miles around and the display is our small way of saying thank you to local residents for all their help and support throughout the year."

A festive, welcoming atmosphere was completed last Thursday (December 3), when The Theatre Royal Margate pantomime cast of The Snow Queen were joined by The Salvation Army and the Mayor of Margate, Cllr Ted Watt-Ruffell, for the switching-on of the Christmas tree lights outside the church.
