Couple charged after stabbing incident

A husband and wife appeared in court on Monday charged with grievous bodily harm after a Rainham woman suffered 10 stab wounds.

Sarah Scamp is in hospital recovering from her injuries after an alleged incident in the village of Langley, near Maidstone, on Saturday.

Lorry driver Michael Poole, 27, and his wife Georgina, 28, were released on bail after appearing before Maidstone magistrates.

The case has been referred to Maidstone Crown Court, where a preliminary hearing will take place on January 19.

They were ordered to be electronically tagged and abide by a curfew from 8pm to 4am.

They will also not be allowed to return to their Langley home - the court ruled that their new address cannot be published.

Police were called to a caravan home at Bramblewood, Pitt Road, Langley, on Saturday evening after reports of a disturbance.
