NIGEL CANNON: described as a man who never lost his temper and always had time for others

THE widow a man killed when his motorcycle crashed into the boundary wall of a house has spoken of his placid nature and devotion to his children.

Nigel Cannon, 44, was riding his red Harley Davidson in Maidstone Road, Rainham, shortly after 9pm on Wednesday last week when the tragedy occurred.

Mr Cannon lived in Marshall Road, Rainham, with his wife Carol and their 12-year-old son and daughter aged eight.

His widow said: "Nigel was a true family man who doted on his children. He worked extremely hard to achieve the plans and ambitions he had for his family.

"He never lost his temper and always had time for others. He had an easy manner and enjoyed the company of his friends and family.

"Nigel touched the lives of all those that he met and was a true gentleman. We have been left devastated by his death and he will be sadly missed."

Mr Connon had an interest in motorcycles, riding his Harley Davidson in only good weather conditions and was described as a "Sunday rider". His family said that riding his bike brought a smile to his face.

His funeral will take place at Bobbing Crematorium, Bobbing, near Sittingbourne, at 1pm on Friday, June 15.

Police are still appealing for witnesses to the collision. Mr Cannon was thrown from the motorcycle along with his 33-year-old brother, Lea, who was a pillion passenger. After hitting the wall the bike collided with a car.

Lea Cannon was injured but has now been discharged from Medway Maritime Hospital and is recovering at home.

Anyone who has information and has not yet spoken to police is asked to contact officers at the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01622 798538.
