Death crash driver named

A MAN killed in a car accident on the A2070 at Brenzett, near Ashford, has been named as 49-year-old factory owner Julian Emary.

Mr Emary, of Main Street, Rye, was travelling towards Ashford when the accident happened on Saturday, April 5.

He was driving a green Land Rover Discovery, which collided with a blue Land Rover Defender travelling in the opposite direction. He died at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 29-year-old woman from Shadoxhurst, near Ashford, was trapped in her car for 50 minutes and had to be cut free by firefighters.

An inquest into Mr Emary's death has been opened and adjourned by deputy coroner Christine Freedman. Inquiries into the tragedy are still being carried out.
