Tickets are on sale for the 2011 Open Championship at Royal St George’s, with discounts available for early purchases.

The Open returns to the Sandwich course on July 14-17, for the first time since 2003 when the USA’s Ben Curtis, pictured, lifted the Claret Jug.

Buyers before December 31 can buy daily tickets at £50, £10 off the price on the gate.

Season tickets offering entry on all eight days of the championship, including practice days, are available at £195 before December 31.

Early purchase reductions also apply to a number of concessionary tickets.

Under-16s will be admitted free.

Tickets bought before December 13 will arrive in time for Christmas.

New for 2011 is the international marquee, in which spectators can enjoy food and drink while keeping track of the golf on television.

Access on the four days costs £40.

The Greenside Club ticket will provide admission, access to a private marquee and reserved seats at the 18th green.

Half-price entry to the Senior Open the following week at Walton Heath, Surrey, will be granted on production of a valid Open Championship ticket.
