THE emergency services are this afternoon continuing their search for a young man who may have drowned in a lake on a Kent farm.

Police say a group of foreign farm workers were swimming in the lake in Staple Road, Wingham, near Canterbury, last night.

The alarm was raised after one of them, a 25-year-old Czech student, failed to return to the surface after jumping in. He has not been named.

A specialist underwater dive team from Sussex will be attending the lake this after noon to undertake a deep search of the water.
