Dog killed in house fire

A pet dog was killed in a house fire in Forsters, Langley, near Maidstone, on Thursday afternoon.

Fire crews were called to the house after neighbours raised the alarm when fire broke out in the hallway at about 1.30pm. The homeowners were out at the time.

The house was badly smoke logged.

Red watch manager Mick Gay, from Maidstone fire station, said the cause of the fire had been traced to an electrical fault in the mains.
