Dog rescued from M20 by female motorist

There was a tale with a happy ending for a dog who made a bolt for freedom onto the M20 this morning.

The black, long-haired dog was spotted on the hard shoulder at junction five for Aylesford just before 8am.

As traffic slowed and police were called, a female motorist from Chatham scooped up the animal and took it to Newnham Court Veterinary Surgery, in Bearsted.

The RSPCA later located the owner and arranged for them to be reunited with the dog.
