'Domestic dispute' on train leads to police appeal

BRITISH Transport Police are appealing for help from the public in conection with an assault on train on Saturday, March 3.

The incident happened at around 12.20am at Eastbourne in Sussex when a male intervened in a domestic dispute.

PC John Dickinson said “The victim was with a group of friends when he overheard a domestic dispute between a male and a female on the train.

"The male victim verbally intervened and was then punched in the face by the suspect. He was taken to hospital and received six stitches to his lip.

"We are eager to speak to anyone who was on the train at the time of the offence and may have witnessed the incident.

BTP have also released a CCTV image of a man they believe may hold valuable information about the incident.
