A MAN is still fighting for his life today following a crash on the Kingsferry Bridge near Minster, Sheppey, in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Ambulance, fire and police crews were all called to the Sheppey side of the A249 at about 3.45am following a collision between a Nissan Primera and a Vauxhall Combo van. The male Nissan driver was cut free and taken to Medway Maritime Hospital with life-threatening head injuries. He was placed on a ventilator in intensive care. Later his condition was said to critical but improving.

The other driver, a Sheerness man, also had to be cut free. He suffered chest and back injuries in the collision but his condition is not considered to be life-threatening.
