Here's a picture to raise an 'aah' from the hardest-hearted Scrooge.

This eight-week-old pup was found abandoned in a ladies’ public toilet in Wrotham during one of the coldest days of the year so far.

A concerned member of the public heard the scared pup making a noise and rescued him and called the RSPCA.

Staff have named him Armitage, after the popular make of toiletware, and are looking after him over Christmas and the New Year. He will be up for rehoming in January.

It is an offence to abandon an animal and RSPCA inspectors are appealing for any information surrounding his abandonment, which happened on December 15.

If you can help, call 0300 1234 999 and leave a message for Inspector Andrew Kirby.
