Elderly man dies in car crash on the A225 Station Road in Eynsford

An elderly man has died in a crash involving a limousine in a Kent village.

The 81-year-old was travelling through Eynsford along the A225 Station Road when the Honda car he was driving collided with a Jaguar limousine.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 62-year-old man driving the Jaguar suffered minor injuries. Both men are believed to be from the local area.

Details about the crash, which happened at 3.30pm on Monday, have just been released by police.

Investigators have appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward.

PC Glen Braidwood of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Kent Police said: "The driver of the Honda was travelling from the direction of Otford when it appears, for reasons unknown, the car veered into the path of the Jaguar, which was travelling in the other direction."

The A225 was closed for around five hours while the two vehicles were recovered and forensic officers examined the scene.
