Around twenty firefighters have been tackling a blaze at a plastic recycling centre in Dover this morning.

Crews were called to the centre just after 7am after reports a number of buildings were alight.

Plumes of black smoke have been seen in the area and residents have been told to keep their windows closed while crews bring the blaze under control.

Firefighters from Dover, Folkestone, Canterbury and Whitfield were called to PPR Wipag Limited, in Winchelsea Road, at about 7.10am.

By mid-morning they have contained the fire to outside storage units and were using jets to damp down the scene.
