A Kent football fan has been transferred to a UK prison from Portugal.

Garry Mann had been serving a two-year jail term for hooliganism there.

The 53-year-old former firefighter returned to Britain last night, having served half his sentence.

He was convicted over a riot during the Euro 2004 tournament but he has always claimed he wasn't given a fair trial.

In February Mr Mann, of Gordon Square, Faversham, lost a second appeal to the European Court of Human Rights against his conviction and jail sentence for the football rioting in Portugal.
