Former Crystal Palace youngsters Joe Goldsmith and Jerry Nnamani are training with Sittingbourne as boss Richard Brady continues to assess his squad plans for the new season.

The Academy pair were released by the south London club and recommended to Brady, with Goldsmith scoring from the spot in Tuesday’s 3-2 defeat at Thamesmead.

Brady said: "It was a competitive game but the result was irrelevant.

"I used around 25 players in the game, had a look at them and there were lots of positives but I will reduce the squad to 18 for the trip to Corinthian on Saturday."

Young goalkeeper Ben Humphries who has had spells with Dover and Hythe is making a good impression as well, while another Dover youngster Luke Girt, 17, scored in the 2-0 win over a London Philippines XI at Bourne Park on Saturday. Joe Williams got the other.

As well as a crop of new names, several old faces look set to wear Brickies colours again this season. Hicham Akahazzan, Ryan Cooper, who has been training with Dartford and Ryan Golding are all back in the fold.
