Four people charged after arrests and drugs seized in Kent and south London police raids

Four men who were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences after early morning raids by the police, have been charged with offences.

It was the climax of a four-month probe in Lewisham and officers stormed homes across Kent and south London yesterday.

Cash and various items were also seized, including three imitation firearms, two CS gas canisters, knives, cash and Class A and B drugs.

A previous series of warrants were executed as part of the same operation last Tuesday and those people have already been charged with drugs offences.

More than 300 officers were involved in yesterday morning’s and last week’s raids.

A several men aged between 22 and 36-years-old, were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences.

DCI John Massey said: “Drug dealing is responsible for a high proportion of violence in Lewisham and the surrounding boroughs which is exactly why operations of this kind are so important.

Those charged include Andre Clarke, 29, of Beckenham Road, Bromley. Clarke was charged with possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.

Damario Nembhard, 24, of Firhill Road, Bellingham, was charged with possession of Class B drugs - cannabis.

John Nicholson, 36, of Limes Grove, was charged with possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs and possession of criminal property.

And Joel Johnson, 28, of Barlow Street, Southwark, was charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply a Class A drugs, - heroin and crack cocaine.

The four will appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court later today.

A 22-year-old man was released under investigation after being arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

A 36-year-old man was released under investigation after being arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and possession of criminal property.
