Frank Nouble aims to take his experience from working with Chelsea pair Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka at Gillingham

Frank Nouble is hoping his Premier League upbringing can help him blitz League 2.

The on-loan West Ham man honed his skills while working alongside Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba during his upbringing at Chelsea in the José Mourinho era.

Nouble (pictured), who celebrates his 20th birthday tomorrow (Saturday), moved to the Hammers in 2009 on a five-year deal and has dropped down to League 2 to make a name for himself.

He has already got one goal after netting the opener on his debut against Hereford last weekend. "My debut couldn’t have gone any better," said the former England youth international.

"I picked up a lot from Anelka and Drogba while training at Chelsea and I still keep in contact with a lot of players there like Ashley Cole.

"There are good people there and you need to learn from those people because they are doing it week in, week out at the highest level. It is good to maintain those skills that you learn from there.

"You have to watch and take on board what they do. I just want to play, do well and showcase what I can do, not only to West Ham but to Gillingham and everyone else who are watching.

"Everyone is in the shop window when you are playing, regardless of where you are contracted, you see it everywhere up and down the country."

Nouble will get to see the Priestfield pitch for the first time on Saturday.

He said: "I have never played here before and Saturday will be the first time. I haven’t trained there and I haven’t even seen the pitch yet."
