Gillingham manager Mark Stimson has bolstered his strike force with the signing of Bromley’s Jacob Erskine.

The 20-year-old front man made a good impression on Stimson when the two sides met at Hayes Lane in a friendly match, where Erskine scored from the penalty spot.

Erskine only joined Bromley in June after he was released by Dagenham & Redbridge manager John Still during a summer clear-out.

His release came as no surprise after he failed to win a first-team appearance with the Daggers. Erskine spent time on loan at Maidstone to gain experience at the end of the 2007/08 season.

He’s been a regular goalscorer in pre-season for Bromley with goals also going in against Cray and Carshalton.
