The front man (pictured), who leads the scoring charts for the Gills with five, has damaged his toe.

Boss Andy Hessenthaler is hoping there is no ligament damage and he can make the trip to Devon, but rates Kedwell’s chances as 50-50.

"We are having a spell of games where we are picking up injuries every game and it looks like Kedwell could be missing at the weekend, which is a blow," said the Gills boss.

"He picked up an injury to his toe and he couldn’t walk on Monday. If there was a game on Tuesday night there wouldn’t be a chance of him playing."

He has been working with physio Steve Allen to discover the severity of the injury.

"We obviously have a few days for him to recover," Hessenthaler said. "I would say it’s 50-50 at this stage and he is hobbling around. It’s a twist to the toe area which is a little concern.

"It’s alright sometimes if it’s just a kick but it could be the ligaments and if he has damaged those it is very unlikely he will play. We will have to wait and see."

Danny Spiller is due to undergo an operation to his ankle on Friday while Barry Fuller is to see a knee specialist on Tuesday.

Hessenthaler is hoping full-back Fuller could be back in action soon if the specialist gives him the green-light to get back involved.

"Hopefully he will get a yes to push on," said Hessenthaler. "He could be back in 10 days if he gets the go ahead and he doesn’t have any more problems with the knee. It could be surgery but that would be the last resort and we are positive he should be okay."
