Striker Chris Dickson could still join Gillingham on loan this season.

Gills boss Mark Stimson refused to rule out a move for Dickson after the goalless draw at Yeovil on Saturday.

The draw increased Gillingham’s need for fresh firepower as they extended their run to 380 minutes without a league goal while they have netted only three times in their last 10 games.

Stimson said: "He’s (Dickson) one of a few so it’s a possibility.

"The chairman has backed me ever since I have been here, and I always tell him if I think there is somebody available, and hopefully sooner rather than later we’ll have some news."

Dickson, who is widely expected to join the Gills on a free transfer in the summer when his contract at Charlton expires, has been a long-term target for Stimson after scoring 11 goals in 14 appearances during a loan spell at Priestfield three years ago.

The 25-year-old has found himself down the pecking order at The Valley this season and joined Bristol Rovers on loan, where he scored four goals in 14 appearances. However, the forward has not scored since late October and will relish a return to Priestfield to rediscover his confidence.
