Dennis Oli and Curtis Weston are likely to be pitched back into the Gillingham starting 11 for their crucial showdown with near-neighbours Brighton.

Both were rested for the trip to Millwall at the weekend but boss Mark Stimson needs three points against Gus Poyet’s side on Tuesday night.

"Curtis comes back into it straight away and his home form has been brilliant. He can’t wait to get back out there," said Stimson, who left the midfielder on the bench to prevent him picking up a booking and an automatic two-match ban.

Oli hadn’t trained last week because of a hip injury but he is also set to return.

Stimson is now hoping for a reaction after Saturday’s embarrassing defeat in London.

"We just hope we come out on Tuesday and play like we have done at home all season. If we do that we give ourselves a great chance of winning and then we look forward to another massive game on Saturday against Leeds.

"It’s great to have a game when you’ve been beaten by that many because you want to get it out of your system.

"As a player you look forward to the next game. If you’re picked you give it your best and hopefully try and stay in the side."

Brighton have lost the last two but are already building for a promotion push next season. They have proved they have cash to spend with the loan signing of former Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie from Derby.

The Gills are also likely to come face-to-face with former skipper Andrew Crofts.

"They’ll give us a test," said Stimson. "They pass the ball around well and again they have some good individuals.

"Hendry is a big player, as such, and they play a sort of formation that can give you problems if you are not tuned in.

"It’s all about us now though, especially at home. This season at home we’ve feared nobody and we’ve had some great results."
