Gillingham striker Simeon Jackson has been named in Canada's squad for the Gold Cup next month in America.

Jackson (pictured), who scored his first international goal on his debut against Cyprus last month, is one of five British-based players included by Canada coach Stephen Hart.

The 22-year-old striker, who scored 21 goals for Gills last season including the memorable League 2 play-off final winner against Shrewsbury, will miss the start of Gillingham's pre-season as a result of his call-up.

Canada start their Gold Cup campaign against Jamaica in Los Angeles on July 3 before playing El Salvador (July 7) and Costa Rica (July 10).
