Google Street View lets you snoop on neighbours

Google's Street View
comes to Kent

People can now take a virtual walk down Dartford's roads, as
Google Street View has
become available for the county’s highways.

Before today, the online resource only covered 25 cities in the
UK, but it has now been rolled out across the whole country.

Street View provides 360 degree road-level images, so you can
snoop around an area without even visiting it.

The pictures are captured by cameras mounted on cars, which take
snapshots every few metres.

Google says it has gone to great lengths to safeguard privacy,
but concerns can be raised using the “report a problem” tool on the
website.

Have you spotted yourself on Google Street View? If you are concerned about how you were caught on camera, phone the newsdesk 01474 564 327 or e-mail dartfordmessenger@thekmgroup.co.uk.
