RENOVATION work to Hall Place is set to be finished by the end of the summer.

The rest of the project is set to be completed by 2009.

Works on the Tudor hall and gardens started in October last year and the building has been covered in scaffolding as external repairs are made. The project is a large one, having been funded by a number of bodies.

The work also involves building a new reception and education centre and improving the sports changing facilities on the site.

Improved disabled access is set to be incorporated into the house, as well as a new approach to the mansion and gardens.

Two new courtyards are also being introduced to the area and the front courtyard is being renovated so that it can be opened to the public.

So far the site has managed to stay open throughout the work and it is not proposed to demolish the current changing facilities until the new ones are available.

Outdoor events are also expected to continue throughout the summer.
