Hats off - University of Greenwich students graduate

Almost 600 students from the University of Greenwich at Medway held their graduatation ceremony at Rochester Cathedral.

They were joined by two honorary graduates, well known sports commentator and athletics coach Stuart Storey and Keith Clarke, Chief Executive of WS Atkins, a multinational engineering and design consultancy. Both received an Honorary Doctor of Science (HonDSc).

Their eulogists were Professor Tom Barnes, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Enterprise and Professor Martin Snowden, who is the next Head of the School of Science.

In the morning almost 230 students from the School of Engineering and School of Health and Social Care graduated before processing in their robes through Rochester High Street to the Cathedral gardens.

In the afternoon almost 350 students from the School of Science and the Natural Resources Institute also graduated and process.

The processions were led by Chancellor, Lord Hart, Vice-Chancellor, Baroness Blackstone, a mace bearer, other senior management and staff from the academic schools.
