Hunt for cemetery vandals who caused £3,000 damage

POLICE are searching for vandals after damage estimated at £3,000 was caused to a building in a Kent cemetery.

The chapel roof was damaged and a door lock to the tower smashed at the cemetery in Maidstone Road, Rochester.

Police say they believe pieces of concrete were thrown onto the roof which damaged tiles.

Anyone with information about the incident - which took place between 4pm on Monday, August 13 and 9am on Tuesday, August 14 - is asked to contact police on 01634 792521 or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
