Hunt for seafront attackers

A MAN was beaten by two youths on Ramsgate seafront when he failed to meet their demands for money.

The 60-year-old man, from Mottingham in London, was grabbed as he passed his assailants at The Paragon at 9.30pm on Saturday. He was punched in the stomach by one of his attackers while the other rifled through his pockets.

Two other men stood watching the assault but did not get involved. The attackers fled empty handed towards the harbour while the other men ran towards Royal Road.

The main suspects are in their late teens and are slim. One wore a dark tracksuit and dark baseball cap, the other wore a white baseball cap, a white jacket and an earring.

Anyone who witnessed the attack is asked to telephone Thanet police on 01843 231055.
