Kent's James Tredwell failed to pick up a wicket on his England one-day international debut on Tuesday - but led his side to victory with the bat.

The 28-year-old, pictured, finished with figures of 0-52 from 10 overs after taking some punishment late in his spell against Bangladesh.

The Kent off-spinner, who was selected for his first international appearance after Ryan Sidebottom was ruled out through injury, had conceded just 20 runs from his first six overs.

The hosts went on to make 260-6 from their 50 overs and England appeared on course for victory until a late collapse saw three wickets fall for six runs.

Still needing 32 runs from 26 balls when he arrived at the crease, batting at number 10, Tredwell successfully helped centurion Eoin Morgan guide England to a two-wicket win.

Tredwell scored two not out from the seven balls he faced as England reached 261-6 with seven balls to spare.
