Kent's players reported back for pre-season fitness tests last week.

Around a dozen, including skipper Rob Key were put through their paces in a series of exercises to monitor agility, power, strength and stamina, by coach Simon Willis and physio Nimmo Reid, with all the data logged on computer.

Martin Van Jaarsveld, who returned from South Africa the same day, Darren Stevens, Azhar Mahmood and Simon Cook will all be tested this week, as the squad step up their preparations for the new season.

The county face Nottinghamshire in two practice matches at the St Lawrence Ground next week.
