KM Pit Stop's in pole position

THE forthcoming British Grand Prix will be the one of the major attractions for visitors to the Kent Messenger's County Show marquee, the KM Pit Stop.

Showgoers will be able to test their driving skills on a full-size Formula One motor racing simulator car, with the chance to win a pair of tickets each day to the Grand Prix at Silverstone on Sunday, July 20, courtesy of Furlongs Travel.

To win the sought-after tickets competitors will have to produce the special voucher in this week's and next week's KM What's On magazine and hand it to one of the KM staff at marquee (Stand number 522).

Or pick up a free voucher from the KM's Maidstone Office and guess the fastest lap time.

The marquee will also feature an eight-track motor racing model for children and their parents to go head to head in a test of skill.

The driver who records the fastest lap time will win £50 worth of vouchers to use at the Buckmore Park go-kart track, Blue Bell Hill. And to complete the motor-racing theme look out for personal appearances between 11am and 4pm each day by a motor-racing driver who looks remarkably like World Champion Michael Schumacher.

Yet while the emphasis is on fast cars and fast driving, safety is paramount, so for children we're staging a special road safety treasure hunt, with the chance to win a new bike.

Our marquee will also have an artist on hand to sketch visitors and there will be regular appearances by Oscar, the friendly robot. Special vouchers in today's Kent Messenger newspapers will enable the first 100 people who present them at our marquee to get free candy floss and other great deals.

A special stand will give full details about the KM hot air balloon and will be selling KM newspapers and merchandise.

The KM-fm Roadshow will be on duty (stand number 413), so drop in to catch some great music and there's a chance to be DJ for a day, sponsored by SeaFrance Dover Calais Ferries.

Karen Williamson, KM marketing and promotions manager said: "With its British Grand Prix theme the KM marquee will be both topical and educational."
