Lorry driver leaves trail of destruction

A LARGE lorry left a trail of damage in its wake when it negotiated a narrow road in Ramsgate. Seven parked cars in Chapel Place were struck with wing mirrors broken and paintwork damaged. Two garden walls were also knocked down.

Police believe the lorry was white and had the word Merlin in black letters on the side. They are appealing for any witnesses to the incident which happened on Thursday at about at 1.45pm.

A police spokeswoman said: “The road is known to local drivers to be very narrow and there is a warning sign for motorists. It may be that the lorry driver was from out of the area.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC David Hague on 01843 222124.
