Police closed the M20 today after a crash near the Brands Hatch motor racing circuit.

The accident happened just after 10.45am on the London-bound carriageway between junctions 2 and 1.

Officers said a Kia Sorento silver-coloured estate car which was towing a caravan ended up on its roof.

The caravan also tipped onto its side on the hard shoulder.

The driver was slightly injured. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Kent Fire and Rescue Services also attended.

The Kent Air Ambulance landed at Brands Hatch and took the driver the Darent Valley Hospital for checks.

All lanes have now been re-opened after the scene was cleared.

A Kent Police spokeswoman said: "The cause of the collision is not yet known."
