Male driver seriously hurt in crash

ONE person was airlifted to hospital after an accident involving three vehicles on Sunday morning.

Police were called to the incident on the northbound carriageway of the A21 near Lamberhurst, just past Scotney Castle, shortly after 8.15am.

It involved three cars - a blue Ford Focus, a blue Ford Mondeo and a silver Vauxhall Safira.

The driver of the Ford Focus, a man from Tunbridge Wells, suffered serious injuries was taken by air ambulance to hospital in London. Police say he is condition is still described as serious.

Two other people suffered minot injuries and were taken to Kent and Sussex Hospital.

The road was closed for more than five hours while emergency services and Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit dealt with the incident.
