Man, 90, dies after being hit by car in Watling Street, Dartford

An elderly man has died after being hit by a car in Dartford.

The 90-year-old pedestrian suffered severe injuries when he was knocked down by a green Ford Fiesta in Watling Street.

The crash happened at about 7.40am yesterday.

The local man was taken to Darent Valley Hospital, but died of his injuries later.

The driver is helping police with their inquiries. No arrests have been made.

The road was closed for more than two hours while emergency services were at the scene.
