A MAN charged with murdering his younger brother made a brief appearance at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday via a TV link from Elmley Prison, Sheppey.

Louis Lumpkin, of Artillery Road, Ramsgate spoke only to be identified and tell Judge Michael Lawson, QC, he understood the proceedings.

The 27-year-old is alleged to have killed Gary Lumpkin, 26, also of Artillery Road, on February 25. He died from multiple stab wounds at an address in Northdown Road, Cliftonville.

Lumpkin was remanded in custody until May 12, when he will enter a plea to the charge.
