Man arrested on suspicion of murder

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a Dover pedestrian at Seabrook on Saturday.

Kent police have appealed for witnesses following the incident.

The victim has been named as Michael Pritchard, 49, a former Eurotunnel worker, who lived at Park Avenue, Dover. It is understood he had three children.

Mr Pritchard was hit near the end of the Prince’s Parade, Seabrook, where it meets the main Seabrook Road at around 5pm.

He was taken to the William Harvey Hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

A 46-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of murder and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

The road was closed while investigators attended and was reopened just before 2pm on Sunday, November 23.
