Man attacked by three robbers in Maidstone

A group of three men punched and robbed a 50-year-old man in what police describe as a "nasty" attack.

The victim was walking along Oxford Gardens in Maidstone when he was assaulted. His mobile phone, wallet and a quantity of gold jewellery were stolen,

Det Con Gen Wood said: "The victim was punched and left with a lump to the left side of his head. We believe the three men were possibly wearing balaclavas and ran off in the direction of Oxford Road."

The robbery happened at 9pm last Wednesday.

Det Con Wood said: "This was a nasty attack and I urge anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the robbery or the three offenders as they ran off to phone police on 01795 419161 or Kent Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555111, quoting crime number CY/2041/11."
