A 35-year-old man has been found dead in the stairwell of a multi-storey car park in Chatham.

Medway Police were called to the Tesco car park in Cross Street at about 2.30pm on Wednesday. A member of the public stumbled across the body of the man slumped on the floor close to some exit doors on level four of the building.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "We are not treating the death as suspicious and the cause of death has yet to be confirmed."

The man's family has been informed of his death. He lived in the Medway area but has not yet been named.
