Man in M-way roadworks tragedy

A man has died following an incident in roadworks on the M25 in Kent.

The tragedy happened between junctions two and three of the motorway near Swanley at about 3.25pm on Tuesday. The man was on duty working at the site.

It is still unclear how he died. Kent Police and the Health and Safety Executive have launched a joint investigation.

The site remained sealed off today but the HSE said it had finished its on-site investigation.

A Kent Police spokesman said members of the victim's family were being contacted.

The Highways Agency expressed its "deepest condolences to the family of the person killed in this tragic incident".

The agency, responsible for maintaining the road, said it would work with and fully support the investigating authorities.
