A MAN died and a woman was injured in a road crash involving a car and a lorry on the M20 on Saturday.

The accident happened on the coastbound carriageway of the M20 between junctions 8 and 9, near Lenham, at about 3.45am.

Two vehicles were involved, a Peugeot 306 and a foreign-registered lorry.

The man driving the Peugeot was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries, while his female passenger suffered minor injuries and was taken to the William Harvey Hospital at Ashford.

Officers from Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses.
