Man's fingertip bitten off in pub brawl

A MAN had part of his finger bitten off during a fight in a pub.

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses following the incident in The Yacht, Long Lane, Bexleyheath, on Sunday night that left another man with a cut to the head.

The fight ensued after a man in his 20s refused to pay for his drinks and impeded other customers being served.

A 44-year-old man tried to resolve the situation but he and his friend, aged 47, were set upon by the man and several other men, also believed to be in their 20s. The 44-year-old had his fingertip bitten off.

The suspects are thought to have fled the scene in a dark Fiesta or similar vehicle.

The incident happened at about at about 8.30pm. Investigating officer, Det Con John Mahoney said: "The pub was full of customers at the time of the offence and we are appealing for any witnesses to contact the police."
