THE all-conquering Mazda 6, which took the company car market by storm almost two years ago, has been voted best “user-chooser” car in the 2004 Fleet World Honours.

Mazda has now won 15 national motor awards since it entered showrooms in 2002.

The 6 series has already been voted the best used family car by Auto Express and the estate version rated as the best in its class by TV’s Jeremy Clarkson.

This year’s Fleet World Honours were presented at a special ceremony at the Royal Automobile Club, Pall Mall in London.

They were judged by a panel of experts representing the leasing industry, fleet managers, vehicle guides and the editorial team at Fleet World monthly magazine.

Fleet industry consultant and former IBM Fleet Manager George Emmerson, who was one of the judges said: “Mazda is on the crest of a wave at the moment and its steadily growing market is built on a very sound product proposition.

The Mazda 6 offers the driver an exceptionally high level of specification in a car that both looks good and is rewarding to drive.”

Standard equipment on the car includes air conditioning, front and side airbags and ABS brakes. Prices range from£13,600 to £20,100 in a choice of 1.8, 2.0 litre and 2.3 litre petrol versions and a 2.0 litre diesel engine.
