ROSS FRIDAY will be hoping for a busy day when he signs copies of his debut novel at Rainham Bookshop on Saturday (September 2).

Mr Friday, who lives in Rainham, was determined to write a book before his 30th birthday and he made the deadline with two years to spare.

On First Name Terms with Angels, is a story of four complete strangers who unknowingly affect each others’ lives during one fateful night along a one-mile stretch of road.

Mr Friday, a marketing executive with the Kent Messenger Group, will be at the Rainham Bookshop signing the book from 11am to 2pm.

Although the book is available worldwide, until now its publication in North America has meant a delayed delivery and expensive shipping costs for potential Medway readers. Rainham Bookshop is the first UK store to stock the novel.

“I’ve had this ambition for sometime now and a lot of work went into achieving it so I’m really looking forward to the event and hoping I’ll get the chance to speak to people who have already read my story as the feedback will really help me with possible future titles,” said Mr Friday.

Rainham Bookshop manager Kate Williams says she has already had inquiries about the book and had organised the signing after starting to read it.

She said: “These tales of co-incidence and fate are very popular at the moment.

“If we can help establish local writers and save customers’ time and money at the same time by stocking the book then we’re very happy to do so.”
