Friends of a teenager who died while sheltering from a storm are organising a memorial to celebrate his life.

The 18-year-old who died after sheltering from a storm in the grounds of the Towers School are organising a special memorial evening to celebrate his life.

Around 100 people are expected to attend the tribute to 18-year-old Kieron Bradford, who collapsed and died at Towers Shool in Kennington last Tuesday night.

It has been organised by Kieron’s friends Amy Jannone, Paris Alexa Mathews and Kieron’s sister Becky Memmott.

It will be held at the Ashford House youth centre, at the old reception of Ashford’s Stour Centre, on the Saturday after the funeral.

Amy, 18, from Brookfield in Ashford, who attended Towers School and Sixth Form Centre with Kieron, said: “I’m going to try and arrange a proper memorial for Kieron Bradford for all his friends to get together, have a sing, speech, laugh and reflect on his life.

“This would be a perfect send-off besides the funeral.”

A date for Keiron’s funeral has yet to be finalised.

Former Towers School pupil Kieron, of Adams Drive, Willesborough, died on Tuesday, September 25, after he collapsed when he was taking shelter from the storm on the school premises in Faversham Road.

It is believed a friend called an ambulance after he became concerned for Kieron’s health at around 10.10pm.

Two paramedic cars and an ambulance attended after reports that Kieron was in cardiac arrest.

Crews performed CPR on the teenager when they arrived and on the way to the William Harvey Hospital but Keiron died that night.

An inquest which opened yesterday heard the cause of death was pending analysis.

Within days, hundreds of messages had been posted in memory of Kieron on a Facebook page called R.I.P Kieron Bradford.

Katherine Bradford, Kieron’s mum, posted that she is deeply touched by the tributes written about her son.

She said: “I’d also like to say that his dad and I are touched deeply by everyone’s support at this hideous time.

“We take such comfort in knowing how much Kieron is loved.

“I’m on here to thank you all for what you are doing for him. He certainly was someone special to a lot of people. You know he would be feeling very honoured (and probably a little smug) to know all this was going on for him.”

Although no date for a funeral has been announced, Kieron’s mum has expressed her wishes for his funeral to be very private.

A minute of silence was held last week at the Towers School and Sixth Form Centre for former pupil Kieron.
