Meopham lads strip off in aid of charity mission

These strapping lads are setting
pulses racing in a quiet village with a cheeky calendar.

The Meopham pin-ups have got a
charity campaign off to a streaking start by posing with little
more than a smile.

They shed their clothes as well as
their inhibitions to raise money for Ben Yates’ mission of cycling
almost 600 miles to the base of Ben Nevis - before climbing the
4,440ft mountain.

The 23-year-old, who lives in
Cricketers Drive, Meopham, with dad Andy, is preparing for the June
challenge in aid of Save the Children.

The former Gravesend Grammar School
pupil - Mr November - said: "Everyone was quite nervous, but after
a drink we were all much more confident.

"It was a great effort and for a good cause."

With strategically-placed props
preserving their modesty, the 10 friends posed for the 2011
calendar around Meopham.

Photographer Andrew Webster, a
student friend of Ben, captured the young men in shots chronicling
the steps along the mammoth charity journey.

The calendar was the brainchild of
friend Jodie Mosaid, who enlisted a team of girls to act as prop
and make-up artists.

The 22-year-old, from Swanscombe,
said: "The boys were apprehensive at first, but as soon as we
introduced the fake tan and baby oil they were in their
element.

"They tried to get themselves
airbrushed afterwards, but we weren’t having it. They look great -
we’re really pleased with the results."

Ben was joined by Keir Wilson, Luke
Underdown, Jack Knight, Luke Gibbons, Dave Evans, Richard Jackson,
Luke Langford, Daniel Thomas and Andrew Yates in the shoots around
Meopham.

Scenes included two sportsmen
playing an eye-watering cricket match, an Oxford student reading
the dictionary, a Scotsman eating oats and Ben climbing a
mountain.

Because they posed in public, as
well as in the Long Hop pub, in Wrotham Road, Meopham, the models
had to keep their underwear on.

Fans can meet the calendar boys at a launch party in Meopham village hall, in Wrotham Road, from 1pm on Sunday.

Visitors can enjoy live music, pose for photos with the lads and buy a calendar at £10 each.

Calendars can also be bought by phoning Ben on 07976 380 007 or e-mailing jodiemosaid@hotmail.co.uk.
