Margate enjoyed a 3-0 win over Aveley on Tuesday night to move into third in the early Ryman League, Premier Division table.

Dean Pooley, Craig Cloke and Tom Bradbrook were all on the mark in Gate's cruise at Hartsdown Park.

Elsewhere Whitstable Town enjoyed a 2-0 win over Maidstone United, who remain pointless in Ryman League, Division 1 South.

Former Stones boss Peter Nott - now in charge at the Belmont - saw former Stones skipper Peter Hawkins (pictured) glance the opening goal with a header into the corner from a deep freekick just two minutes into the full-blooded derby clash.

The Stones battled back and piled on the pressure, forcing two goalline clearances from Gary Sayer and hitting the bar in a frantic first-half finale, however they could not find a breakthrough and 13 minutes into the second-half it was 2-0, Marvin Okundelaiye firing in the rebound after James Simmons had rattled the underside of the bar on the break.

Defeat means Stones are bottom of the fledgling standings, while the Oystermen occupy a play-off position.

Stuart King was on the scoresheet again but Folkestone Invicta went down 3-1 at Corinthian Casuals to suffer their first defeat.

The hosts missed a penalty before the break following a challenge by Liam Friend but took the lead after the interval and added two more in quick succession before new-boy King netted a consolation 11 minutes from time.

It was his second goal in as many appearances for Invicta and he also saw a goal chalked-off for offside and hit the woodwork late-on.

Hythe Town recorded their first Ryman League win with a 3-0 victory over Faversham Town at Reachfields.

The hosts bossed the game from the outset but both teams saw goals ruled-out for offside before the break, Adrian Stone for the visitors and Lloyd Blackman for Hythe.

It was not until 15 minutes from time that Hythe took the lead with a thunderous volley from sub Simon Austin from long-range, and the points were safe on 82 minutes when skipper Dave Cook converted from the spot after Matt Bourne handled a cross.

Cook grabbed his second in the final minute when he got on the end of Aaron Lacy's deep cross to seal the convincing win.

Sittingbourne and Ramsgate played-out a 1-1 draw at Bourne Park to maintain their unbeaten starts to the new season.

Ryan Golding put the Brickies ahead on 19 minutes but Luke Wheatley levelled shortly after the half-hour with a fine solo effort to earn a share of the points.

Chatham Town made it back-to-back wins to start their Ryman League, Division 1 North season with a 2-1 win against Harlow Town.

Man of the match Joe Fuller sealed victory with a fine solo strike in the Chats' opening game of the campaign at London Road
