The Military Wives are to perform at this summer's Open Air
Classical Concert at Leeds Castle.

The 100-strong choir won the race to Christmas number one with
their charity single Wherever You Are.

More than half a million pounds was raised for forces' charities
from sales of the moving song, containing lines from the wives'
love letters to their husbands serving in Afghanistan.

Now the group are preparing to star at the Leeds Castle
concert - accompanied by field guns, fireworks and aircraft
displays - on Saturday, July 14.

The Military Wives Choir, led by choirmaster Gareth Malone, have
performed to royalty, dignitaries and celebrities since their
Christmas success.

Wherever You Are became the fastest-selling charity single since
Elton John's 1997 track Candle In The Wind.
